Preferences

 

The "Preferences" form is used for many things. Most of them are user preferences which will make navigating the program custom fit your style. The entire form is shown below and each part is separated into sections with an explanation for each.

This form is accessed from the "Guest Register" form or the "Calculator" form by clicking "Edit" then "Preferences" from the menu bar at the top of the respective form.

Guest Register Preferences (Tab Settings)
Taxable Item Preferences (Damage Deposit, Misc. Fees, Cleaning Fee tax options)
Backup/Restore Preferences (How often to remind you to back up the databases)
Start Up Form (What form you want to see first at program start)
Data Base Management (Back up or Restoration of Databases is performed from this form.)

 

Guest Register Preferences:

These two check boxes tell the "Guest Register" whether or not to move the cursor into the "Country" and/or "Address Two" fields when "tabbing" through the "Guest Register" as you add or change guest information. Guest Register PreferencesThe tab stops in the guest register are preset so that you can enter data into each field and press the tab key to move to the next field without having to continuously use the mouse. The default value for these fields is unchecked which means that the cursor will skip these fields while you tab through the form and you will have to use the mouse to select that field to enter data into it. When you have finished selecting all of the desired preferences click the "Save Preferences " button at the bottom of the form.


Taxable Item Preferences:

Taxable Item PreferencesSome states or localities have different laws regarding sales and use taxes (Bed Taxes). "Taxable Item Preferences" are used to tell the program whether these items are taxable so that it can add the appropriate tax to the guests total fee. The program taxes all base rental fees at the rate specified on the "Rental Property Information" form. When you have finished selecting all of the desired preferences click the "Save Preferences " button at the bottom of the form.


Backup/Restore Preferences:

Backup/Restore PreferencesEach time you exit the program it will check to see when the last time the databases were backed up.This portion of the "Preferences" form is used to set whether the program will remind you to back up the database(s) and how often you wish to be reminded. If it has been longer than the specified length of time between backups the program will display a prompt and ask if you would like to back the databases up now. If you select yes the "Preferences" form is displayed. When you have finished selecting all of the desired preferences click the "Save Preferences " button at the bottom of the form.


Start up Form:

This section of the "Preferences" form is used to select which form is displayed first at program start up. When you have finished selecting all of the desired preferences click the "Save Preferences " button at the bottom of the form.Start Up Form Selection


Database Management:

This section of the "Preferences" formis used to backup or restore selected database(s).Select a database you would like to backup or restore then select the drive from the drop down list where you want to back up to, or restore from. Then click the appropriate button.Database Management Functions

When you have completed all of the desired tasks click the "Close" button at the bottom of the form.
